		Windsurf: Mistral Class - RS:X
THE SICILY GRAND PRIX BEGINS WITH A GOOD PROMISING WIND WHICH THEN
		LEAVES THE RACE CIRCUIT

The European Mistral Class Championships finished with a victory from
Marco Casagrande and the dominating team in the overall results Hong
Kong. The Sicily Grand Prix began today in Mondello, a classic to World
Festival on the Beach, in this edition the new Olympic table RS:X took
place in the race. The beginning of the day started with strong winds
coming from a western direction and blowing at around 15 knots with
gusts blowing of 18 to 22 knots, but bit by bit the wind died down,
allowing only one race to be held. The second race was cancelled by the
judges for the poor wind conditions.
There were different starts for the RS:X boards and the Mistral boards,
with the new Olympic table to begin first. Emanuele Arciprete from L.N.I
Civitavecchia is the leader so far in the RS:X results, following him
was Andrea Beverino from the Italian Air Force, and Fabian Heidegger
		from Caldaro.
In the Mistral table’s race Hong Kong’s athlete Kwok Fai Cheng was in
the lead obviously not happy enough with the European overall ranking he
took in the Europeans. Behind him was the same two as the previous days,
King Yin Chan and Kwok Po Ma.
A good day for the new champion Marco Casagrande who came in at fourth
place, coming in before the other Chinese athletes Ho Chi Ho, sixth, and
Wing Ho Yu, eighth. In fourteenth position Alessandro Alberti came in,
who with his team mates Casagrande and Failla try and recover Italy in
the Nation Cup, who came in at third place, taking over Greece and
hoping to take over Israel, and with Hong Kong definitely out of their
reach. Valentina Failla who was didn’t make it to third place for one
point in the Europeans, finished her race today in 26th place, the third
woman to come in after Wai Ken Chan and the Israeli Sivan Davidovich.

The first junior in the Mistral category was Marcantonio Baglione, 21st
in the overall results, while the first youth was once again Kwok Po Ma.
