The winds blows slightly in the second day of races of the European
Mistral Class Championships in Mondello, allowing the 45 athletes to
		carry out 2 races.
In the morning the wind blew from an eastern direction not to strong,
adjusting to around 6 knots in the afternoon, blessing the leader in the
overall results Chan King Yin from Hong Kong. Today’s races confirmed a
good moment for the other Asian wind-surfers who yesterday held on
tightly to the first five places. A good leap ahead for Cheng Kwok Fai
with success in the first race and a second place in the last race which
brings him up from seventh to third place behind Ho Chi Ho.
Even after the second day of races Marco Casagrande is in the lead of
the European group, coming in at seventh place in the overall results,
with 8 points ahead of the Greek Alexander Giakas and 12 points ahead of
the Israeli Omri Hazor, making him third place on the virtual podium.
The first of the women to come in was Chan Wai Kei, coming in at ninth
place in both races. Second, and the first European woman was Anastasia
Davrou, who will need to watch her back for the Israeli girl Sivan
Davidovich who could catch up. A duel for the third place of the
European women’s podium where the Greek Maria Papadaki keeps only two
points on the Albaria Club’s Valentina Failla.
The masters positions remains unchanged with Paco Wirz leading the way,
17th place in the overall ranking, Castelli and Avellone come in behind
		him.
In the Nation Cup, the team leader is still Hong Kong on a lonely run
away thanks to an excellent performance from Chan King Yin and Ho Chi Ho
from the men’s category and from the woman’s category Chan Wai Kei.
Greece comes in at second place, 10 points ahead of Israel. Fourth place
for Italy, pushed by Casagrande, Alberti and Valentina Failla.
