STRONG WINDS FOR MONDELLO’S “LITTLE” AMERICA CUP
Only half of the skippers in race, in lead the French specialist Richard, no.4 of the world ranking list. Tomorrow the “+39” and Paolo Cian, in 2002 the “Mascalzone Latino” helmsman

The first day for the Albaria Cento Cup, a Grade 1 match race, ashore in Mondello’s gulf amongst the World Festivals 2005 events. The results were partial seeing as only half of the skippers faced each other. The wind made the conditions very difficult for the challenges in two.
Strong winds that would come and go put everything to the test, with a few breakdowns,that were fixed straightaway, slowed down todays programme. Things that are all very normal in an event like this. In the results which are temporary – holds the Frenchman Mattieu Richard, no.4 of the world Ranking list in the lead, a man who has natural talent and who’s a great interpreter in this kind of race.
Richard has won 3 races even with Matteo Simoncelli (Italian specialist Champion). Other helmsmen are Wibroe, Dutch, and Neugodnikov, the Russian specialist champion. The Australian, Jarvin won a race and the Swiss, Cris Ras (who raced in the Athens olympics) remains at zero.
Tomorrow will race the crew of “+39” Challenge of the America Cup and Paolo Cian, “Mascalzone Latino’s” helmsman in the America Cup in New Zealand. Different rounds will go ahead up until Friday, and Saturday will see the final phase of the Cento Cup that the Albaria presents with collaboration from the Gargnano Sailing Club, from Lake Garda. We all hope that the wind will be a little more constantbut not as strong, we’re sure that Mondello won’t let the Cento Cups fleet down.
